LEMAIRE IN BEIJING
LEMAIRE opened its third address in China, located in Beijing's leading fashion enclave, Taikoo Li Sanlitun.
Constructed from deactivated concrete and glass, the boutique’s brutalist exterior is softened by a vast off-white curtain. This expanse of fabric frames the entrance to the ground floor, where floor-to-ceiling mirrors and wooden ballet bars echo a classical dance studio. Upstairs, the space balances domesticity with minimalist design.
Venetian blinds filter natural light, stone-coloured carpets add warmth, and quilted partitions frame the fitting rooms. The furnishings juxtapose Chinese antiques with European modernism, continuing LEMAIRE’s dialogue between East and West, and artists and artisans. These elements situate the Beijing boutique in its context, conveying a distinct, singular sense of place.
