SCENTED OBJECTS
Pomme, Emboîtage, Wood Link and Lavender Cushion form a collection of olfactory objects. Conceived for domestic spaces, with a particular emphasis on those where garments are kept, the collection invites reflection on how matter and scent shape our relationship to the home.
Each object foregrounds artisanal processes and sculptural forms. Ceramic pieces Pomme and Emboîtage were created in collaboration with the estate of French artist Annie Fourmanoir (1931–2024), extending her tactile language. This attention to craft carries through to Wood Link and Lavender Cushion, with each piece bridging design, function, and the gestures that accompany garments and dressing.
For the collection, three scents were developed to pair with each object. Cardamome Terre, Bois d’Ombre, and Lavande Écorce are blended with essential oils, each diffusing a comforting, natural aroma.
ANNIE FOURMANOIR
Annie Fourmanoir (1931–2024) was a French ceramist and sculptor whose career spanned more than 50 years. Initially trained in languages and ethnology, she later turned to clay, studying under Paul Chaumeil in Paris. She developed a distinctive artistic practice, using vessels and sculpture to explore the tension between form, texture, and glaze.
The collection is available on LEMAIRE.fr, in LEMAIRE Elzévir flagship, LEMAIRE Place des Vosges store, LEMAIRE Ebisu flagship, and at La Garçonne in New York, Stoy in Copenhagen and Antonia in Milan.
