Over the seasons, LEMAIRE has introduced bird calls into its line of collectibles. these whistles have been carved in a limited edition.
They are the perfect tool for recognizing birds by their song and communicating with them.
This series of accessories emerged from a dialogue between LEMAIRE and
Quelle Est Belle Company, a small bird call manufacturer located in the rural
Drôme region.
The business is run by François Morel, who has been carving bird calls since he was a
child, in keeping with his motto: “the closer our relationship with nature, the better
we can protect it.”

The handcrafted bird calls are made from locally
sourced wood – beech, maple and ash – using artisanal
methods. They are then carefully painted and
lacquered by hand to imitate the plumage of the bird
whose voice they borrow.

Fitted with a knotted leather cord, the calls can be worn around the neck or
attached to another accessory. Each is engraved with a serial number, making it one
of a kind.
25 whistles were chiseled for each of the four birds of the Fall-Winter 2023 collection: the Goldfinch (carduelis), the Seagull (laridae), the Tern (sterninae) and the Swallow (hirundinidae). 10 of each for the Wagtail (motacilla) and the Cuckoo (cuculidae), new additions for LEMAIRE’s Spring-Summer 2024 collection.
