LEMAIRE IN TOKYO

Ebisu 3-21-1, Shibuya-Ku, Tokyo, Japan Monday to Sunday, 11am to 7pm

LEMAIRE opens its first flagship in Tokyo in November 2024. The 170-square-metre boutique has found its home in the serene neighbourhood of Ebisu, Shibuya, nestled inside a former 1960s private residence with an adjacent garden. Against the backdrop of a fast-paced era, the Tokyo flagship has been conceived as a tranquil space, inviting guests to pause and to explore the many layers of LEMAIRE’s vision.

The walls are covered with traditional Japanese plaster while Sudare bamboo blinds handmade with straw sit alongside sliding Shoji paper screens. These elements harmoniously co-exist with LEMAIRE’s signature fixtures, such as a reproduction of Freud's iconic couch in the living room with vintage kilim rugs, and handwoven wadded panels and abaca mats covering the first floor.

A long-standing collaboration with Out of Museum continues with an array of folk objects hand-selected by its founder, Makoto Kobayashi.

The Ebisu flagship has also been envisioned as a cultural intersection, welcoming exhibitions, concerts, and creative experiments that gather LEMAIRE’s community.
