Moving between drawing, illustration, writing, animation, and performance, Topor created a singular universe where the dreamlike and the darkly humorous converge.
Topor and LEMAIRE
For Autumn/Winter 2026, LEMAIRE presents a capsule collection inspired by the work of French artist Roland Topor.
In the collection, metamorphosis translates Topor’s drawings into garments and accessories that are both playful and uncanny. Motifs move freely between human, animal, and landscape forms.

The drawn line becomes fibres, thorn-like textures, and reliefs; graphic elements become tactile surfaces that shift with draping and folds. Scale is reimagined, bringing fragments of his works into unexpected proportions.
The capsule comprises blouses, skirts, fringed pieces, scarves, and boots, bringing Topor’s artwork into motion through an expressive textile language, while small leather goods carry his imagery into portable formats. Across the collection, function and artwork, use and display, the quotidian and the collectible continuously shift.
