LEMAIRE IN BEIJING
LEMAIRE announces the opening of its third address in China, located in Beijing's leading fashion enclave, Taikoo Li Sanlitun. Located in the modern, urban setting of Northern Sanlitun, the two-story boutique carries the full range of women’s and men’s clothing, as well as collections of accessories.
Constructed from deactivated concrete and glass, the boutique’s brutalist exterior is softened by a vast off-white curtain. This expanse of fabric frames the entrance to the ground floor, where floor-to-ceiling mirrors and wooden ballet bars echo a classical dance studio. Upstairs, venetian blinds filter natural light, and heathered wool carpets balance domesticity with minimalist design.
The furnishings juxtapose Chinese antiques with European modernism, continuing LEMAIRE’s dialogue between East and West, and artists and artisans. These elements situate the Beijing boutique in its context, conveying a distinct, singular sense of place.
